This course is for anyone who wants to learn about the Passive House Standard and become a Certified Passive House Tradesperson. Typically, our participants are contractors, site supervisors, building engineers, builders, policymakers, technical sales managers, or professionals working in the building industry. The course is also suitable for self-builders who don’t have any experience in the field but want to build or manage a Passive House project.
Anyone can take part in the course only. Passing the exam will give you the credentials to leverage your career in the energy efficiency sector. There aren’t any requirements for taking part in the Certified Passive House Tradesperson course.
No prior knowledge is required for this course. This course is ideal for anyone willing to learn about the standard and make their first step into the Passivhaus industry. Only if you have zero experience with the design and construction process of buildings do we recommend you start with our Passivhaus Basics online course.
The Certified Passive House Tradesperson certificate is valid for five years. After that period, you can renew it by submitting the documentation of a certified project. It is possible to restore the certificate at any time, even if it already expired some time ago.
The course is very practical, and we provide all materials. For the final online exam, you should have a good internet connection. You don’t need any prior knowledge and experience with any software. You will need to supply your PC or Mac computer (Linux can’t be used for the exam). For the Boot camp, we will show you UBAKUS, an online application to determine the hygrothermal properties of the building fabric.
All the presentations and course material from the Passivhaus Contractor course will be provided as hard copy notes which you can take for the exam. We will share all materials and samples required in the Boot camp.
Yes, the course is officially accredited by the Passive House Institute (PHI). Also, the Certified Passive House Tradesperson title you will acquire after passing the exam is recognised and valid worldwide.
If you cancel your reservation for any reason, we will refund your full payment. However, this is only possible up to 14 days before the course starts, as only limited spots are available.
